by Robert Lacey. It comes in a hard cover and it covers Grace's life from beginning to end. I think it is okay, Robert was not close to Grace, he wrote about a lot of celebrities so I take more of his work as tabloidish. He does have some excellent pictures in the book though.I completly agree with Troy. Although I must applaud Lacey on his extensive research on Grace Kelly's childhood. It is most complete and informative, that is if there is 100 per cent truth behind it. Lacey's book tended to veer off course when telling Grace's life in New York prior to her movie career. Lacey also has a bias against Rainier and the rest of her family in Monaco. At the end of the book you cannot even believe that he would bad talk the family of someone he apparently greatly admires. Another thing I must add is that I see Robert Lacey on TV all the time. He is always on those trashy inside Hollywood shows talking about Grace Kelly's supposed affairs and bad mouthing her "wild" children. The nerve of that guy!
The Bridesmaids
by Judith Balaban Quine. Judith was a personal friend of Grace and gives good insight on the real person Grace was. It is taken more from the angle of the dream of marriage Grace style. It comes in paper back and also contains some decent pictures.This book is full of heart, written by Grace Kelly's closest friend. It gives the most honest and detailed information on who was really Grace Kelly, the Princess of Monaco. But I did find that the author (Judith Balaban Quine) contradicted herself at times. I can say though, that her contradictions are merely what everyone on earth has of their friend. Hopefully you understand what I mean. Some very personal information is given in this book, information I found weird but also found very heart warming in the end.
The Grimaldis of Monaco by Anne Edwards. This is a hard back that covers much of the Grimaldis family history and has many pictures of the Royalties lineage. Only the last section contains the current Rainier and Grace.
Yep.
Grace by Howell Conant. This is my favorite book of all time. It is basically a hard back photo album of Grace. Howell was Grace's favorite photographer and a great friend of hers. The pictures are unbelievable and just lure me into awe. This book contains most of the pictures that you see on any of the websites. Howell portrays Grace as only he could of had the ability to.
This book is also my absolute favorite. One could look at the pictures for hours. I highly reccomend this book. It is unfortunatly out of print but check you local library for it!
Entertainment Weekly: 100 Greatest stars of all time. This magazine was taken off of the shelf 1/12/98. People still may be able to get a hold of it if they ask their book stores. It contains a gorgeous picture of her and a little data.
Grace: The secret lives of a princess by James Spada. This is a paperback which in my opinion is trash. To me it is a book of gossip and trash that talks about affairs and a risky life. I cannot believe that Spada would even be a fan of Grace. I see him writing for the Inquirer rather than for the life of a princess.
I don't think I could have said it better! James Spada should be ashamed of himself. It boggles the mind that someone would go off and publish a book so nasty and tasteless of someone who cannot even defend herself. Perhaps some (and I mean some) truth lays behind some of his information. Either way I still couldn't respect Grace Kelly more! I suppose you have to be a woman to fully understand what I mean, or then again maybe not.
Steven Englund's Grace of Monaco: An Interpretive Biography is the most lovely biography ever written about Princess Grace by someone who is truly an admirer. This man has the most simplest answers to everything. If you are new to Princess Grace's story and are looking for good complete biography to read then this is the book for you. This one is highly recommended.
Sarah Bradford's Princess Grace is a short and straight forward biography of Grace Kelly. Again if you are new to Princess Grace's story but are lookinf for a quick read, then this is the book you should read.
